Lisa's Wedding Tips!
We are pleased to showcase some fantastic wedding tips from our very own Wedding Executive, Lisa, who has overseen countless weddings with us at Ellenborough Park. With her expertise and passion, Lisa ensures every wedding is treated with care and meticulously planned to reflect the unique love story of each couple. Guiding you from the initial enquiry to the big day, Lisa has some amazing tips, tricks and things to bare in mind:
- Initial thoughts when viewing a venue should be, 'how will the day flow in this venue?', 'can I picture my guests here?', 'can the venue look after basics such as parking and bedrooms for our friends and family?', 'can I stay the night before?', 'what happens if it rains on the day?', 'who looks after us on the day, and do I get to meet the team before our big day?' - I make sure that all couples have the opportunity from the initial meeting to ask these questions and get those answers, as well as meet our team who will be looking after you on the big day - no matter how big or small the question is, this is what we are here for!
- Check your dates before booking, make sure there is not a big football match or F1 race on that day!
- Too many "chefs" and too many opinions can be overwhelming, make sure to go with your instinct and remember it is your day.
- Start a shared spotify list together from the day you book your venue and keep adding to it – this way you’ll have a unique collection of music that sounds like you – perfect for your background music!
- If you have flower girls, pop some white chocolate buttons in their baskets. This won’t make a mess on the dress and it acts as a mid-ceremony snack and distraction!
- Make sure to take your flowers and your bridesmaids flowers out of water at least an hour before your ceremony – we don’t want water marks on the dresses!
- We will build moments into your day to ensure it doesn’t snowball and become overwhelming. After your ceremony we’ll be waiting with your favourite drink (that one’s on us, as we want you to enjoy your favourite drink as your first one as a married couple) while we help get your guests ready for your confetti photos!
- Later on during your evening reception, I would recommend picking three songs that when you hear mean you have to meet each other on the dancefloor for a dance – a little code only you’ll know and brings you together.
- Can your venue prepare breakfast the following morning in one place for all of your guests who have stayed over? This keeps the celebrations going longer! (we can do this at Ellenborough Park!)
Hopefully, these tips prove helpful in your wedding planning! We’d love for you to consider us as your potential venue. Feel free to reach out – Lisa and our team are here to help make your dream day a reality!
