Golf at Ellenborough Park

Designed by the world-famous Old Tom Morris, Cleeve Hill Golf Course is a must play and is sure to be a memorable experience. Set over the stunning Cotswold escapement with breathtaking views over the Severn Estuary towards the Welsh mountains, just a 5 minute drive from the hotel.

The golf course is highly regarded and was recently ranked No.94 in the Top 100 Courses in the UK & Ireland by Golf.com. The course is best described as an inland links with turf that is equivalent to our coastal neighbours in north Devon and Cornwall. Whilst visiting in 2016 the famous course designer Tom Doak said “I do not often use the word “unique” in my reviews of golf courses, but Cleeve fits the bill. Laid out over the commons on top of Cleeve Hill, a thousand feet above Cheltenham, it is England’s answer to Gullane but the scale is ever more vast because there are only 18 holes to wander over it, and you are much higher up”.

A warm welcome is guaranteed, and our Golf Team will be on hand to arrange any hire sets and electric trollies that you require. We encourage everyone to use our bar and café, whether they are golfers or not. We also have a Golf Shop stocked with a range of golf memorabilia all branded with our famous tree logo.
